A Successful Debut at IdeenExpo 2026

A Successful Debut at IdeenExpo 2026

The first few days of IdeenExpo 2026 are behind us, and we can look back on a successful start at the joint quantum aktiv booth. It’s impressive to see how many young people, families, school classes, and tech enthusiasts are interested in the world of quantum technologies and are engaging in conversation with the experts on site.

A Successful Start Despite the Summer Heat

The weekend in Hanover was quite a challenge. Temperatures soared past the 30-degree mark, the halls were relatively quiet, and yet the atmosphere remained consistently positive among visitors, exhibitors, and the entire team. It was precisely this atmosphere that provided plenty of room for what the IdeenExpo is all about: curious conversations, trying things out together, and enthusiasm for innovative technologies.

Even away from your own booth, there’s plenty to discover at the IdeenExpo. In addition to the numerous STEM activities, the large-scale stage performances created a festival atmosphere. A special highlight was the concert by the band SDP on Saturday evening, which drew numerous visitors to the grounds. In the exhibition halls, topics range from robotics and artificial intelligence to space exploration and modern training and degree programs.

The Quantum World Up Close

The quantum aktiv booth will showcase numerous exciting projects, including QOI, Qoool Sensing, Qookies, 2QA, Q Bus, DiQuaMus, Quantum Minilabs, Quantum Arcade, QuantWorld, and the quantumexpedition. Each of these projects offers a unique gateway to the world of quantum technologies and vividly demonstrates just how diverse this field is. From interactive experiments to open-source hardware and quantum sensors, to educational games, workshops, and creative hands-on activities, there is plenty for visitors of all ages to discover. The projects on display are part of the “Quantum Aktiv II” funding initiative and are supported by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space.

Strong Partnerships for Successful Science Communication

Of course, a joint booth like this can only work with strong partners. That’s why we’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who is making the quantum aktiv booth at the IdeenExpo possible. Our partners include LICHTWERKSTATT JENA as an Open Photonics Makerspace, Fraunhofer IAO, the University of Stuttgart, Saarland University, Hahn-Schickard, and the Heidelberg University of Education. Together, we’ll demonstrate just how exciting, diverse, and tangible the world of quantum technologies can be.

We are particularly pleased by the openness and curiosity of the many visitors. Whether during experiments, workshops, or conversations, there is a strong interest everywhere in learning about new technologies and trying them out for themselves. That is exactly what quantum aktivis all about: making future technologies understandable, sparking interest, and inspiring people to engage with science, research, and innovation.

The IdeenExpo runs through 28. Juni 2026, in Hanover. If you’re there, be sure to take the opportunity to stop by the quantum aktiv booth and discover the fascinating world of quantum technologies for yourself.
